You are interested in installing either solar photovoltaic panels or solar thermal panels on the roof of the house you live in.
Part 1. a) For the house you live in, calculate potential solar photovoltaic system size for your roof. Download SEAI Solar PV Calculator. Use this to calculate the energy and cost savings, and payback period.
Part 2. b) For the house you live in, calculate potential solar thermal system size for your roof. Download the SEAI Solar Thermal Calculator and use this to calculate the potential output from the system. In addition, calculate the energy savings and payback.
Part 3. c) Make a recommendation for which system to install making reference to why you choose the particular technology.
Part 4. d) Prepare a report outlining the project description and discussing the choice of technology.
The format of the report should follow a standard report template; however, this is not a strict requirement (below is a guide);
