An intake conduit from a well field used to pump ground water is being designed for a town with a population of 23,000 people. Six years ago the population was 21,500 people.

a) assuming deometric growth, calculate the population in 50 years

b) the city planners would like to design the conduit such that it will accommodate the city's demands for 50 years. Given an average daily per capita usage of 177 gpcd, determine the design flow for the conduit. (If required, you may assume the maximum daily per capita usage to be twice the average daily per capita usage.)
