Weight management is a difficult task. I know because I have been working in the weight loss industry for about 5 years now! What I would like you to do this week is pretend that you are the weight loss counselor. In our scenario, our participant is going to be named Jim. Jim is 35 years old. He is 6'1" and weighs 235 pounds. His waist circumference is 48 and his hip circumference is 50. He is lightly active. His metabolism is 2700 calories a day to maintain his weight. He has type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure. Calculate Jim's BMI and waist-to-hip ratio. Create a weight loss plan for Jim. Be as descriptive as possible in your solution. Remember there is no one way to lose weight. As long as a program is healthy, effective, and sustainable it is a good program! (describe how many calories he will need to eat, what type of eating plan will he be on, exercise, how often will he weigh himself, etc.)
