Calculate how many dietary calories the lizard spent

Information needed to know

  • There are 121 dietary calories (kilocalories) in 100 grams of crickets
  • The crickets (that the lizard eats) weigh 0.5 grams each
  • It takes 0.1 dietary calories of energy for the lizard to do one push up.

My question is how do I calculate how many dietary calories there are in a cricket? And how many crickets the lizard would have eaten to fuel all those pushups.

Before getting to this part of the equation, I was responsible on figuring out how many push-ups a lizard does in 30 minutes for 30 days. These were my steps in figuring that out. ( the video is on YouTube "Lizard Push-Ups", and it shows a lizard doing 8 pushups in 8 seconds and the video is 13 seconds long)

  1. 60 (the # of seconds in a minute) / 13 (the # of seconds in the video) = 4.615384 (I did this to figure out how many intervals of 13sec. there are in a minute.)
  2. 4.615384 • 8 (the number of pushups) = 36.92307
  3. 36.92307 • 30 (the number of minutes the lizard does pushups for in a day) = 1,107.692307 (the number of pushups done in 30 minutes) (1,108 rounded)
  4. 1,107.692307 • 30 (the number of days) = 33,230.76923 (the number of pushups done in a month) (33,231 rounded)

And then I multiplied that last number (33,231) by 0.1 to calculate how many dietary calories the lizard spent doing all of those pushups. And resulted with the answer of 3,323.1 Dietary Calories.

Please help me figure out how to figure out the second part of the equation, thank you in advance.
