A spring with k = 15,000 N/m is located on a 30 degree incline and compressed some amount from its equilibrium position. A 5.0 kilogram block is then located against the spring and released from rest. It is required that the block slide exactly 50 centimeter up the incline from its initial position against the compressed spring before momentarily coming to rest. The coefficient of kinetic friction between the block and the incline is 0.1.

Find how far from the equilibrium position should the spring be compressed?

If instead you made a mistake and compressed the spring 15 centimeter from its equilibrium position, calculate how fast would the block be traveling when it passed the 50 cm point up the incline?
