Calculate the basin-averaged erosion rate of a catchment that consists of uniform granite of density 2.65 g/cm³ with a catchment area of 32 km². From stream gauging records dating back 30 years, you know that the average sediment transport rate in the trunk stream of the catchment is 1.9×10^6 kg/year. Report your answer in both microns per year and millimeters per year and describe all assumptions you are making in the analysis. A sketch of the situation will be helpful to organize your calculation.
