Assignment Objective
Aim of the Assignment is to check if students understand the appropriate warehouse design process and critically analyse the benefits and limitations of modelling warehouse decisions. It also requires to check if students can develop the requirement for monitoring and measuring performance.
Assignment Tasks
Question 1. Managing a warehouse is a very challenging job that require continuous tracking of Key Performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of operations and to apply continuous improvement methodology. Explain five of the warehouse KPIs.
Question 2. Explain how ABC classification system can be used in warehouse layout optimization.
Question 3. The layout of the warehouse is the foundation of efficiency in operations. The warehouse layout design will either ease your business processes or slow them down. Explain any five principles of efficient warehouse and distribution center design.
