OBJECTIVE:
To evaluate student's competence in understanding the aim of a planned research project for business improvement. A real life case is introduced to students who are expected to apply the analytical approach of problem solving.

OUTCOMES:
1. Understand the practical problems of operations management in business.
2. Perform calculations and modeling skills applied to several techniques in operations management
3. Apply the problem solving technique in operations management.

Assignment

The lounge sets are a great success. In the future the company wants to produce 375,000 sets, that is, 75,000 of each of the types Modena, Monaco, Victoria, St. Tropez and Victoria Balcony in the existing production hall.

It is not clear if this future operation fits in this hall. A decision has to be made which products should be made on which machines and where subassembly points are realised. The company wants to know the investments needed and the yearly exploitation costs spent on assemblers and forklift drivers.

Aurora requires a plan - a report and Excel files- in which the choices of layout, working method and resulting costs are explained, and which can be checked.

please fully explain me from where you found this numbers for both photos (refer the attachment) GO through this doc and ur solution file u will get a clear idea... In the question file they have mentioned last year the production quantity were 2,00,000 units.For the upcoming year the production quantity is 3,75,000 units which is given in the excel file. The table which are asking is an approximation given for the last year production units.It is mandatory to show that table in the solution file.We have given for reference.It is nothing but the approx value for the last year.Actually it is not needed in the solution if u dont want you remove that table. The production unit 3,75,000 units is solved is given in the excel file for your reference .Hope you understood now. Don't complicate the table it is just an assumption you can explain that is an approx value of the last year production unit which is given in the question.
