Task: Students are to advance the innovation conceivedforAssessment 1 through developing, and communicating, appropriate strategy, marketing, financial projections and an overview of the business model.A high impact slide deck would address global considerations andsustainability to increase the potential interest of an investor.
Drawing on unit concepts from Modules 1, 2, 3 and 4 combined with additional researchanimpactful presentation is to be developed, in .pptx format, including embedded audio or video. The PowerPoint should consist of a maximum of 15 slides and include:
1. an effective openingslide which introduces the entrepreneur and identifies the purpose of the presentation
2. clear, succinct communication of theinnovationincluding key product features
drawing on Assessment 1 and content within Module 2: section 3.0
3. an evaluation of the externaland industry environmentsin which the venture will operate drawing on content within Module 2: section 2.0
4. a summary of the proposed strategybased on content within Module 2: section 2.0
5. aBusiness Model Canvas(Osterwalder 2013) based on an effectivevalue proposition drawing on content from Module 4: sections 3.0 and 4.0; Module 2: section 2.0
6. evidence of a profitable opportunity through effective secondary research e.g., 2022 ABS data identified xx single member households in Australian cities consisting of females over 65 years of age. An appropriate, commercially reachable target marketis identified utilising a range of relevant segmentation variables.
7. a summary of operational aspects including the supply chain - how the product is to be produced (e.g., manufactured if a good; process if a service; development if an app) and proposed distributionstrategydrawing on content within Module 2: sections 3.0 and 4.0
8. overview of a lean marketing communicationsplan relating to the launch of the innovation, drawing on content within Module 2: section 3.0
9. an overview of projected financial forecastincluding profit and loss projections, break-even units/time and the rationale for the selected pricingstrategy
10. type and amount of fundingsought. Equity offered including rationale.
11. sustainability outcomes to increase investor appeal
12. a conclusion, including the outcome sought
13. effective, professionalnarrationthat conveys competency
14. high impact, professional visuals
Logistics: Develop a PowerPoint presentation of a maximum of 15 slides. Record video or audio that will play automatically when the PowerPoint is in Slide Show mode. All current students have free access to Microsoft Office on their personal devices as part of Southern Cross University's subscription to the Microsoft Office 365 platform.Please ensure that you have the latest version of PowerPoint, which can be accessed via Toolkit: Student Resources and Services, to increase the visual appeal of your presentation.
The transcript of your narrative should be detailed in the Notes panel on each PowerPoint slide. To navigate to the Notes panel, select View in the top ribbon then Normal or Notes Page as indicated below. A separate file e.g., Word document will not be accepted as a transcript.
If in-text referencing only is undertaken within the individual slides, a reference list will need to be compiled and detailed as either the 15th slide or within the Notes section.
