BUSN11098 Leadership Development in a Changing World - University of the West of Scotland
Topic & Context: Conceptualising Leadership & Change Theory.
Each group will provide a 15-minute characterisation of the development of knowledge about leadership and change in historical and conceptual context and in so doing account for different approaches, types, and perspectives on leadership and change. Presentations will use case examples to account for the development of leadership and change. Each presentation will be followed with an additional 5 minutes for questions and clarifications. The presentation will account for 20 per cent of the overall module assessment weighting.
Assessment- ‘Case' Essay.
The task will be to employ contemporary model(s) of leadership and change to evaluate a prominent business or political leader of your choice as a case study example.
The course work will account for 80 per cent of the overall module assessment. Please note that if you select a leader from the political, military or other realms for example you must provide a case for how those leadership characteristics, attributes and/or skills selected would be appropriate and/or transferable to the business realm.
Change should be conceptualised in relation to various contextual factors. The essay will be 2500 words in length.
