Ethics, especially in business is one of those items that needs to be a guiding light, I believe that ethical behavior needs to be near the top of the list for any company to succeed in the long term. Sure, you can go our into the marketplace and do bad deals, try to get over on everyone. You might be successful at it for a period of time. The bad business dealings will catch up with you at some point, until no one will want to do business with you any longer. Then you will have you ask yourself, was the short term money worth the long term loss of business.
