Business ethics is important in any line of business

After doing some research I've learned that some people believe that Business Ethics is a "fad" that will not be of existence in 20 years or so. However there are other people that believe that Business Ethics is important in any line of Business and in the workplace.

(For those of you that aren't familiar with the word "fad" it is basically something that people are enthusiastic about but is not really necessary or important).

Do you believe Business Ethics is a "Fad" that will be non-existence in the future or do you believe Business Ethics is important in any line of Business and in the workplace? Please explain your reasoning.
