Business ethics involves more than just maintaining your company's image among current and potential customers. Actions which may be perceived to violate business ethics may have serious legal implications. Examples which you read about in this week's lesson discuss the financial and legal impacts of a lapse in business ethics in several large corporations. Some companies are more serious about actually enforcing their business code of ethics than other companies.

Research the codes of ethics of several companies and pick two companies to discuss in this week's forum. Pick one company which you think has a code of ethics which is designed to be understandable and enforceable and another company which you think has a code of ethics which leans more toward simply being a public relations statement and not really intended to be monitored and enforced. For each company explain the language in their code of ethics which leads you to your conclusion regarding the enforceability of their code of ethics. Finally, for the company in which you believed had the weaker code of ethics, how would you improve their code of ethics?
