Business Analysis Governance Plan Background of the Project
Case Study
The University of Australia is planning to introduce a new training program for individuals who want to take their CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) exam. In order to do so, the University wants to contact all the stakeholders, both in the public and private sectors, and develop a database of their opinion. The information collected will be utilized to develop a new training program. The budget for the project is $10,000, and the duration is four months.
Project team
The project teams are within the University of Manitoba, Extended Education.
In scope
- Identify stakeholders.
- Develop a questionnaire.
- Interview the stakeholders.
- Develop a database of stakeholders' feedback.
- Design a "draft" training material.
Out of scope
- Design the "final" training material.
- Develop the CBAP training program.
You have been engaged by the University as the prime BA for the project and asked to develop the business analysis governance approach, to be included in the overall project governance.
The business analysis governance approach should be 2 pages. Additionally, it should state:
- How will business analysis work be approached and prioritized during the project?
- What is the process for proposing a change to business analysis information during the project?
- Who has the authority and responsibility to propose changes to business analysis information and activities and who should be involved in the change discussions?
- Who has the responsibility for analyzing business analysis information and activities change requests during the project?
- Who has the authority to approve business analysis information and activities changes during the project?
- How will business analysis changes be documented and communicated during the project?
