Assessment - Data collection and Report on Methods of Analysis of Data

Learning Outcome (f) Explain how the use of selected methodologies is relevant to a specific research proposal.

Assessment Task: Using the questionnaire/ interview guide you developed in assessment 2, collect data from five students from your class/ friends. You must provide a detailed description of how you collected your data. Also, indicate the challenges you encountered during the data collection.

Analyse the data and write a report demonstrating how the analysis addresses your research questions.

If you have used a questionnaire for your data collection, use Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) for the analysis. Construct and submit a data-entry ‘shell' ready to enter the data from your survey as an Appendix. Within this data-entry shell, please enter the responses. You must provide a detailed description of the analysis methods you used and provide justifications for your methodological decisions.

If you collected your data using an interview guide you must code the data using thematic analysis techniques. Show evidence of coding in your report. Attach your coding sheet as an Appendix.

Indicate how you will address ethical concerns You may follow the outline below;

Introduction
Provide a summary of your research problem and state your research objectives and questions

Data collection method
Participant selection and rationale, plus chosen methods: survey, interviews, semi-structured, observations, etc.

Data Analysis Methods
What method will use to analyze your data? e.g., thematic analysis, regression, ANOVA, Chi-square, etc.

Ethical Implications
How you will handle the data through anonymisation, de- identification, paraphrasing, etc.

Challenges
State the challenges you encountered during the data collection
