Aladdin is a R&D company that has recently developed a new type of fiber that is resistant to water and dirt. Several carpet manufacturers want to use this company as their supplier for this new fiber. The locations (coordinates of the cities) of the carpet manufacturers are summarized in the following table:

The company expects to make 130, 75, 90, 80, 75, 80, 100, 90, 70 shipments to carpet producers, respectively. The company wants to build two new plants in a location that minimizes annual shipping miles. However, It also want to stay50 miles at most from each of the new customers to support any production issues that may arise. We will assume that shipments are made in a straight line from the company to the manufacturer.

Questions

1. Solve the problem of where It have the Aladdin company to build the two new plants to minimize annual shipping miles.

2. The new plants are wanted to be built in the cities where the carpet factories are located. Modify the model and get the cities where the Aladdin company has to build its plants so that the miles of shipments are minimized.

Description

You must deliver the following:

- The Excel sheet in which the problem has been modeled and resolved. The sheet must be designed clearly, following the usual conventions that make it easy to modify.

- Technical report, which must contain:

a) The mathematical model of the problem. You have to explain what the variables are and what they mean. You must indicate the target function you areoptimizing.

b) A screenshot of the window just before calling the Solverthat displays the algorithm used and the parameters with which you run.

c) The solution obtained and its cost, explained in understandable language by a company manager.
