Data Analysis Assignment -
You work for a small export oriented company based in Sydney (Penfolds wine company). You should do the following analysis:
- The nature of the company,
- The products/services that the company provides.
Your company has decided to expand by investing a substantial sum of money to build and operate a production plant in an overseas country (China). The plant will manufacture goods that will be sold largely to residents of that country. Your director has asked to present on the key demand risks associated with the new venture, particularly issues around the impact of the country's macroeconomic performance on demand for the product. You are to produce a PowerPoint presentation discussing the key demand side risks associated with the venture with a focus on the macroeconomic performance of the target country.
You will need to decide on which macro-economic and socio-economic considerations will be relevant but you may need to consider:
- A suitable measure(s) of economic activity,
- A suitable measure(s) of the labour market,
- A suitable measure of inflation,
- GDP
- A suitable exchange rate(s),
- An assessment of the monetary policy stance of country's central bank.
- An assessment of the fiscal policy stance and public indebtedness of the country's government.
The board have also instructed you to discuss other macroeconomic or socio-economic considerations you deem relevant. Examples of these considerations could include asset prices, commodity prices, population growth, income per capita or education but, to be honest, the board is clueless and is wanting you to decide what is relevant. Your presentation needs to make good use of tables and charts. (you need to build regression model, cost model (including fixed and variable price, revenue model, and demand curve model)
Finally, what is your recommendation and implications for the analysis?
