Scenario
You are an Innovation Management consultant and you have been hired by a company to prepare and present a business case for an innovative product with commercial potential.
Task 1
Section 1
You should cover the following issues:
Background to the company and its commercial potential.
Examine the difference between invention and innovation, analyse sources of innovation as a core process in a specific company;
Critically discuss link between innovativeness of a specific organisation and its leadership, organisational culture and teamwork;
Evaluate 4 Ps of innovation, appraise the value of the innovation funnel and frugal innovation with reference to your case study;
Section 2
You should cover the following:
Explain the importance of the commercial funnel and New Product Development process for successful innovation.
Build an Innovation case utilising the commercial funnel:
Evaluate resource and funding considerations
Identify key risks that can impact the successful implementation of the innovation
Establish specific Key Performance Indicators that will allow to control/monitor and assess the success of the new product's implementation.
Evaluate how the company can protect the intellectual property rights of the new product.
This provides evidence for all Learning Outcomes
Task 1:
The submission is in the form of a case study of an organisation selected by the student that covers, using evidence, various aspects of Innovation and Commercialisation. The Innovation case should be built as result of student's research.
The student has to actively search for relevant information, which would allow him/her to perform required actions and complete the Assignment. It means that it's very important to select a right company for the case.
The student must have the lecturer's approval - before he/she starts working on the Assignment.
The paper should be referenced using the Harvard referencing system.
Please also provide a reference list using the Harvard referencing system.
The recommended word limit is 2000-2500 words. You will not be penalised for exceeding this number.
