Question: Your company has been awarded with a contract to build a dam across a river flowing through a gorge in Sarawak. The width of the top section varies from 100 m to 150 m. The river is situated between 80 m to 100 m below from the top of the gorge. The surveys indicated various profiles for the gorge cross sections as shown in the FIGURE Q1.
