This task relates to the process of managing and controlling a budget in any industry context (i.e. hospitality industry) where the budget may have been set within an organisation. The budget may be for an entire small organisation, for a section of a larger organisation, or for a particular project or activity. For example, when you have an operating budget, it is essential that you monitor and analyse the actual performance of your department against the budget projections.
In this assessment task you will be provided with;
A sample organisation for context purpose; and
A sample budget
A budget is a plan documenting the future needs, uses and allocation of resources. In contrast to financial reports, which look at historical performance and results, budgets are forward-looking, typically for the coming month, quarter, year or even for specific projects (CPA Australia, 2018).
