Project Management Plan

Learning outcome 1: Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge and critical appreciation of Operations and Project Management tools and techniques for various planning and decisions within organisations

Learning outcome 2: Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge and critical appreciation of Operations and Project Management tools and techniques for various planning and decisions within organisations.

Learning outcome 3: Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge and critical appreciation of Operations and Project Management tools and techniques for various planning and decisions within Logistics & Supply Chain aspects of organisations.

Learning outcome 4: Effectively determine how Operations and Project Management can support the corporate strategic plan of an organisation, improve performance and implement change, using appropriate tools to support decisions and planning.

For this assignment you are required to work in groups, your group (6 - 8 students, this will be decided by your tutor) are required to produce a project management plan for a suitable project from the list below. You must agree on the project title and scope with your tutor.
The Project Plan will include the use of Project Management tools and techniques studied and discussed in the sessions.

This project plan assessment contains two parts:

Part A (Formative): Group submission of the PowerPoint presentation, whereby feedback will subsequently be provided. Date to be confirmed by tutor. The group presentation should make use of Microsoft PowerPoint software, with 15 slides maximum

Part B (Summative): An individual project portfolio document. An individual project portfolio document will be developed by you and this is the document which will be assessed. This portfolio document (3,500 words) needs describe your contribution to the project as it evolves and also a post-project reflection. You are required to prepare and submit your reflective project plan report through BREO, with clear indication of your individual contribution to each section and your personal learning skills.
Document requirements:
• The document must be in Microsoft word format. With Arial 12, line spacing 1.5, and page numbers.
• Add a cover page with Unit name & Code, assignment number & submission deadline, and your name & ID No.
• Create a table of content for each Assignment

Document and Presentation Structure:
• Business Case (which should serve as driver for the group project and document its business justification)
• Project team and their roles;
• Project stages and key deliverables
• Project time management (Work Breakdown Structure; Activity List; Gantt Chart in MS Project; Network Diagram and Critical Path)
• Budget (cost)
• Risk Log/Register
• Quality Plan.

Project Dimensions:
Your selected project must be within the timelime and costing indicated below:
• Time: between 1 to 6 months (tolerance - +/- 2 weeks),
• Cost: between £1000 to £75,000 (+/- £500)
