Task - Performance and Skills Assessment
Part A - Assessing Knowledge and Skills
1. Refer to the responsibilities outlined in the Fitness Instructor job description in the additional resources section and answer the following questions: (approx. 100 words)
a. Identify two (2) skills that you employ to fulfil your work role as a fitness instructor that you feel needs improvement
b. For each skill, identify one (1) concept that you employ to successfully demonstrate this
c. Identify one (1) industry standard requirement for each concept to evidence your skill
d. Briefly describe what you need to improve on or add, to further develop your knowledge in the skill, in order to improve in the skill itself
e. Based on your answers in above, why do you feel you need to improve upon the skills you identified?
Part B - Short Term and Long Term Goals
For this project, you must demonstrate your abilities in establishing personal work goals by providing evidence from appropriate technologies available on your personal computer. Specifically, you will be required to: (approx. 500 words)
2. Refer to the responsibilities outlined in the Fitness Instructor job description in additional resources section and complete the following:
• Identify one short term goal.
• Write a plan on how you can achieve thispersonal short-term goal.
• Explain how this short-term goal affects your role, responsibilities , and accountabilities.
3. Refer to the Bounce Business Plan in the additional resources section and complete the following:
• Identify one long term goal.
• Write a plan on how you can achieve this personal long term goal.
• Explain how this long term goal affects your role, responsibilities, and accountabilities.
You will be required to consult three (3) persons in planning your long-term goal. These persons may be volunteers, such as friends or family members, for as long as they can give sound, realistic advice on your long-term goals. At least one of them must be currently employed.
4. Describe how you measure and maintain your work performance in the following tables
5. Discuss how you can manage a work-life balance. (100 words)
6. Describe one (1) method you use to manage your stresses in life. Explain how your stress management method contributes to your positive work-life balance. (200 words)
7. Briefly describe how you attend to your health. (100 words)
Part C - Being a Role Model
8. Answer the questions in the following table. (approx. 200 words)
Part D - Seeking Feedback
To complete this part of the project, you will need to improve on or learn a work skill.This project also includes the following requirements: (approx. 250 words)
• Seeking feedback from employees, clients, and colleagues.
• Identifying ways to further develop your competence at work.
• Developing new skills to achieve and maintain a competitive edge in the industry.
9. Seek feedback from employees, clients and colleagues to identify and develop ways to improve your competence. Use the feedback form included in Appendix 1, and distribute them to the volunteers playing the role of employees, clients or colleagues. Collect all the Feedback Forms once they have been completed. There should be six (6) in total and upload them with this assignment.
10. Based on the feedback you received in Q 9, select and describe one (1) work skill that you must learn or develop.
11. Develop a strategy for learning this skill, with the guidance of the feedback you received. Describe how you will take into consideration your personal learning style for your plan on learning the skill.
12. Develop a personal development plan for the new skill you wish to develop. Use the table below.
13. Identify 3 new skills you have developed during this course. Describe how these skills have helped you develop a competitive edge in your workplace or industry. (100 words)
