Assessment Task 2: Practical Assessment Task- Reflect on personal efficacy

TASK SUMMARY:
You will review your own performance by interacting with stakeholders, taking interviews and preparing a journal on personal efficacy. You will also evaluate personal effectiveness and capacity to build relationships and achieve operational accountabilities

Task brief
This assessment has been developed to provide you with the opportunity to demonstrate your skills,
knowledge and ability to analyse and improve personal leadership style and professional competence, and to lead organisational transformation and learning for strategic outcomes.

Instructions to students:
1. This project is an individual work exercise

2. You will be required to review own personal and professional competence against personal development objectives.
3. You need to communicate with your colleagues, peers and seniors to take their feedback, prepare a journal and complete a questionnaire to evaluate your personal efficacy.

In this part of the project, you are required to prepare a reflective journal on your personal efficacy, based on the interview outcomes with a competent person from your organisation.
Instructions to students:
1. The quest for improvement is the defining characteristic of professional practice and therefore the major thrust of this task.
2. You need to identify suitable professionals who can give you honest feedback on your personal efficacy.
3. You may decide to interview a range of stakeholders from diverse groups including technical and subject matter experts, juniors, seniors, peers and other people whom you perceive to help you in identifying your competence.
4. You must prepare a questionnaire for the interview and write interviewee's remarks against each
question.
5. You must take prior appointment with the people identified by you and ensure to perform this task professionally in a simulated environment or actual workplace.
6. The word-limit for the journal is 1500-1800 words.
Steps to complete Part A of the Practical Assessment Task:
TSK2.1.Interview colleagues, supervisors and other persons of significance and seek their input to enable you to prepare a reflective journal reviewing your:
• personal efficacy
• personal competence
• capacity as a role model in terms of your ability to build trust, demonstrate active listening, confidence and respect of diverse groups and relevant individuals
• strategies for creating a climate that encourages and allows for the receiving and giving of effective feedback
• attainment of professional competence outcomes
• personal development objectives and priorities

Provide:
• A copy of the reflective journal
• Evidence of consultation including:
o Name and position of personnel interviewed
o Date of interview
o Subjects discussed at each interview
o Signature of interviewee

In this part of the project, you are required to perform self-evaluation of your reflective journal and personal effectiveness in meeting the organisational and personal accountabilities and responsibilities.
Instructions to students:
1. You must analyse completely and honestly the feedback from interviews and the written responses in the journal.
2. You must use the self-efficacy questionnaire provided in Appendix-A to complete this task.
3. You must prepare an informal report to record your findings.

Steps to complete Part B of the Practical Assessment Task:
TSK2.2.
a) Complete the self-efficacy questionnaire provided in Appendix A
b) Review the reflective journal you have created
c) Evaluate your personal efficacy and ability to build an effective organisational and workplace culture operational accountabilities and responsibilities
d) Present your findings in the form of an informal report

Assessment Task 3: Report Writing- Lead in a transformational manner
TASK SUMMARY:
You will prepare a report and cite your real-life experiences which demonstrate your understanding of different leadership styles and to lead in a transformational way

This assessment has been developed to assist you in evaluating your personal leadership style and
lead in a transformational manner by applying appropriate leadership practices, managing disruptive emotions and lead consistently by demonstrating empathy, respect and relationship building in every day leadership role.

Instructions to students:
1. This report work is an individual work exercise

2. You are required to review your own leadership style by evaluating your own actions from previous experiences
3. The examples must be from your own real-life work experiences

4. You must write your report by following S.T.A.R ( Situation Task Action Result) method for each example used by you
5. You must write your responses as per the given word-limit in each step.

Steps to complete Report writing:
TSK3.1.A) Explain the terms "Transformational leadership" and "Transactional leadership". Write
your response in 50-70 words for each type of leadership.
B) Explain in 70-100 words, different situations under which you can use Transactional and Transformational leadership styles.
C) Provide one example each from your real-life professional career, where you used Transactional and Transformational leadership styles. You must explain the reasons to use the deployed leadership style. Explain in 200-250 words for each leadership style.

TSK3.2. Describe a situation where you demonstrated empathy and respected individual differences towards your co-workers at your workplace. Explain your key learnings from this experience. You must answer in 200-250 words.
TSK3.3. Over the course of completing this assessment, make entries into a journal, diary or specifically-designed table such as the example appearing in Appendix B. As opportunities arise, record the incident, emotions experienced and particularly your reactions and resulting actions and how these may have affected workplace relationships

participative work relationships through collaborative thinking and achieve strategic results by encouraging collaborative communication, contributions from relevant individuals and learning approaches at the workplace, in every day leadership role.

Instructions to students:
1. This report work is an individual work exercise

2. You are required to model and cultivate collaborative thinking by evaluating your own actions from previous experiences
3. The examples must be from your own real-life work experiences

4. You must write your report by following S.T.A.R ( Situation Task Action Result) method for each example used by you
5. You must write your responses as per the given word-limit in each step.

Steps to complete Report writing:

TSK4.1.Provide an example from your professional career where you completed a project or achieved target while working in a team and utilised expertise of different people. Also explain your own roles and responsibilities in the project and the strategies deployed by you to encourage contributions from these people. Write your answer in 500-700 words.

TASK SUMMARY:
You will deliver a PowerPoint presentation and demonstrate ability to provide strategic leadership during change process.

This assessment has been developed to assist you in identifying best approaches to respond to change
process. It also requires you to analyse and utilise appropriate leadership styles for developing learning and communication solutions to address problems at the workplace, during organisational change.

Instructions to students:
1. This oral presentation is an individual work exercise

2. This will be a role-play presentation and your classmates/ trainer/ assessor will take on the role of different employees at your workplace
3. This session is to be presented using MS Power Point slides as a face to face/ virtual meeting

4. The examples must be from your own real-life work experiences

5. You must discuss by following S.T.A.R (Situation Task Action Result) method for each example used by you
6. You must prepare 15-20 slides and must write only the keywords/ points in the slides.

7. Time-limit for delivering the presentation is 25-30 minutes.

8. You will be video-graphed or photographed during the presentation.

Steps to complete Oral Presentation Task:

TSK5.1.Provide an example from your professional career where your organisation went through a change process. Briefly explain the nature of the change and the challenges in implementation of the same. Also, outline the relevant legislation, information and intelligence sources used for evaluating business opportunities.
TSK5.2.Assume your classmates/ trainer/Assessor as your stakeholders, convey them about the organisational direction, mission, values, policies and procedures in a positive manner.
