According to Lecture (Revolutionary War) the British had a plan to quickly end the colonial rebellion. This plan involved General Howe in New York and General Burgoyne in the British Northern Colonies (Canada) doing what? Group of answer choices Burgoyne would move into Okacroke Island off of North Carolina, befriend the smugglers and pirates who were based there and convince them to join General Howe's naval attack on Colonial shipping. This would weaken the American economy so much that the Rebellion would have to collapse. General Howe would invade New York, split his army and send half of it to meet General Burgoyne's Army at Saratoga. There the combined forces would "cut the head off the snake" by occupying New England and shutting down the heaviest colonial resistance. General Burgoyne would attack Boston with a 30,000 man force of Prussians and from there slowly conquer all of New England. Meanwhile, General Howe was ordered to capture Pittsburgh and capture the US Congressional government. General Howe would attack Baltimore with the new "Congrieve Rockets, which were shipped in by General Burgoyne. The rockets were designed to terrify the American colonists, who had never seen such a weapon.
