Assignment - The Ones Who Stay and Fight Short Stories and Television Episode Essay
Description - Short Stories and a Television Episode
1) Show you a few examples of popular culture texts so that you can start thinking ahead towards the types of popular culture texts you might want to write about for your final research essay.
2) Get you into the practice of pre-writing about texts by having you briefly write down some of your ideas on each reading.
3) Prepare you to write your first essay next week.
Instructions - Below are three short stories and an episode from the original Twilight Zone television series. I am asking you to read these stories and watch the television episode and to write a 1/2 page on EACH of them, for a total of two pages of writing. Your writing should be double spaced, Times New Roman, 12 point font.
For the writing, I do NOT want a summary of the narratives. Instead, I want you to write what you thought about them.
For this assignment, you do not need to worry about MLA formatting, a Works Cited page, or even grammar or spelling. Focus on your ideas. As long as you write the full amount, and have not plagiarized from online sources, you will earn full credit for the assignment.
