Question: On September 11, 2001, the United States faced its worst crisis in decades: the September 11th terrorist attacks, or "9/11." In total, nearly 3,000 people died.

The Patriot Act gave government officials the ability to invade some Americans' privacy and in some cases violate their constitutional rights if they were suspected of creating or aiding a terrorist plot.

In a discussion post, briefly share your thoughts about the Patriot Act. In your opinion, was the Patriot Act just? Should the executive branch be able to limit civil liberties in times of crisis? Why or why not?

Once you have finished writing your post, respond to at least two other's posts. Respectfully state whether or not you agree with your class mate's position, and provide reasons or examples to support your response.
