Research Project Proposal
Assessment Task 2 comprises a research project proposal. You can select and design any project into a proposal you wish. Your task is to use all of the core learning throughout this course and to formulate them into your project proposal.
Presentation of the Research Project Proposal
Your research project proposal is a written document that will be assessed by your course coordinator and the teaching team. It is most important that you keep in contact with the teaching team and seek appropriate support and advice in completing the assessment should you require. Learning Skills Advisors are available to assist you with this writing task.
Your research project proposal 3500-4000 words. The task should be presented according to the following guidelines:
clear paragraphing with the use of subheadings
no or very few typographic errors
referencing must be presented in APA style with appropriate citations throughout
paraphrasing is better than the use of quotations (use quotes sparingly)
all quotes and ideas from other sources must be acknowledged
The Research Project Proposal should include the following information:
A brief description of the context of the study, what is the study about and why?
What would you like to change or modify or introduce into your health or healthcare related practice?
A project rationale. Explain why you chose this topic and how it is of interest to your field of work, state your aims and research question/s.
A brief literature review. Include at least 8-10 key references that you anticipate will inform your project. Don't forget to critically evaluate this work.
Methodology. Information about data and artifacts. Briefly describe the approach to data collection that you intend to use, identify the artifacts or evidence you propose to collect to support your project.
Ethical considerations. Identify ethical issues that you will need to consider in the conduction your research project.
Dissemination of findings. Briefly discuss how you disseminate your findings of the study so they may be of maximum benefit.
Timeline, including various milestones of completion within the proposed research project.
