The goal was to set standards for service delivery and to improve the quality of healthcare. In addition, the government and organizations continue to establish regulations and programs to ensure healthcare effectiveness, safety, coordination, and patient-centeredness. However, the U.S. healthcare system faces numerous challenges today.
