Target Audience Exercise
During Super Bowl LII, there were many people who were watching the television in anticipation of the commercials. Corporations spent millions of dollars on these commercials (which lasted less than one minute) in an effort to market their product to a target audience.
Creative public relations / marketing firms spend a significant amount of time researching the target audience and creating unique concepts that will grab the audience's attention and leave a lasting impression.
Instructions: Go to the link below to view a series of super bowl commercials from Super Bowl LII. There are a total of 65 commercials. Select ONLY THREE commercials of your choice and provide an analysis for each one.
Be sure to include the following in your analysis:
Provide a title for the commercial, e.g. "Febreeze", "Lexus", "Tide", "Verizon, "Fandango", etc... (this will help me to identify the commercial.)
Briefly describe the message of the commercial. (What do you think the commercial is trying to convey?)
Who is the target audience? (What are the demographics of the audience?
What types of values, attitudes, beliefs, and values are assumed?
Is the commercial effective? (Why or Why not?)
