After the pandemic's impacts brought the world, and Australia specifically, to a sudden standstill, the recovery has been relatively slow and dismal for many industries, including Hospitality and Tourism. On the other hand, the pandemic has brought some opportunities for hospitality and tourism leaders to consider operational changes and restructure to rebuild themselves, solving the existing organisational culture issues.

Presume that you have been asked to provide strategic advice on the most suitable leadership profile and associated human resource processes for a tourism and hospitality organisation that seeks to hire a new General Manager (GM). The GM would need to lead the team and drive long- term sustainable growth and development to ensure the hospitality organisation meets high service standards and fully aligns with the organisation's goals to recover and thrive after the pandemic.
