Rationale for the study - This section should contain a brief overview of the research study, with reference to relevant literature where appropriate, which outlines why this research topic is relevant, important, and how your study relates to the relevant literature. Research questions - In this section you need to clearly state the research questions that you intend to address with your study. Methodology- In this section you need to outline the design of your research study.
You should use the following sub-headings (where appropriate):
Participants/Data collection - In this section you need to include details of who your participants will be and how they will be selected and recruited. If you are not using human participants, then you need to outline what data you will use and how it will be collected. Materials - This section needs to describe whatever materials you will be using to collect your data. For instance, if you're conducting a survey, you need to describe what the survey will involve, how it will be designed, and what types of questions it will include. If you are conducting a laboratory study, the various materials that you will use need to be outlined here. Method/Procedure - This section needs to outline how the study will be carried out. What steps will be followed in the data collection process? Analysis - In this section you should outline what methods you might use to analyse your data. This might include which types of statistical tests you would use to answer your research question/s. Ethical considerations - In this section you need to highlight any ethical considerations that arise with your project, and how you will address them. Anticipated problems - Here you should consider what challenges you might face during the project, and how you might overcome these issues. This might include resource issues, costs, access to data, or issues of validity/reliability.
