REQUIRED - In the modern era, many organisations have become increasingly aware of the decisions made in respect to products and/or services, processes and performance evaluation can have major impacts on aspects such as quality and environmental sustainabilty, as well as well as ensuring a fair return to the stakeholders and long-term viability and/or sustainability of the organisation.
Research Activity - Undertake a search of the relevant literature to determine what are the major issues related to the implementation of and/or use of Activity Based Management in the context of performance evaluation, supply chain management, quality management and environmental sustainabilty, whilst satisfying an organisation's stakeholders and ensuring long-term viability and/or sustainability of the organisation.
Prepare a Report/Essay - Having completed your research you are then required to prepare a paper that outlines the major issues related to the implementation of and/or use of Activity Based Management in the context of performance evaluation, supply chain management, quality management and environmental sustainabilty, whilst satisfying an organisation's stakeholders and ensuring long-term viability and/or sustainability of the organisation.
Your paper should include a brief discussion on the nature of Activity Based Management, and a detailed discussion on how Activity Based Management (and associated performance evaluation and supply chain management) can be used to ensure quality management and environmental sustainability.
The paper should be written in fluent grammatical English. It should include a bibliography of referenced sources.
Internet resources used should be acknowledged and fully referenced.
Full copies of internet materials used should be submitted separately as electronic files (eg PDF) in a separate document(s) accompanying the assignment.
All references and sources must be properly acknowledged. A copy of the final paper should be retained by the author.
The paper should be between 1,500 to 3,000 words.
The paper may take the form of a report, or an essay. However the form is irrelevant provided that the information required is provided within the limits given.
GUIDELINES FOR ASSIGNMENT PREPARATION:
- It is preferable that assignments be typed (written assignments will be accepted but only if clear and legible. Marks may be deducted for illegible or partially illegible papers.)
- Sketches, diagrams, charts etc. should be neat and properly labelled.
- Where appropriate assignments should have double or 1½ spaced lines.
- Where applicable the assignment should be presented on A4 size page leaving at least a 2.5cm margin on either side. (This is the best format for viewing and marking.) Larger page sizes can be utilised for charts etc.
- Number each page of the assignment. (Where practicable the student's name and student's number and/or group's name and number should also appear on each page.)
- Make a duplicate copy of each assignment. This overcomes any problems should your assignments ever be lost even though this rarely happens.
- Assignment papers should be properly referenced using a accepted reference technique accompanied by appropriate bibliography and literature review. Students should restrict their quoting of specific passages to a bare minimum.
