Discharge Diagnoses: 1. Pulmonary embolism w/ acute cor pulmonale 2. ITP 3. Acute DVT 4. Htn Hospital Course: Patient presented to ABC Hospital with left leg erythema and warmth. Also, had some shortness of breath that was acute in onset. Was noted to have a DVT in her LLE and PEs in both lungs. Initially EKG showed signs of right heart strain. Patient was admitted to the ICU for closer monitoring. Patient has a history of ITP treated by Dr. Williams. Recently received IVIG. Dr. Williams was consulted on the case and patient was initially started on a Heparin drip. She was subsequently changed to Lovenox BID. The patient continued to improve and no longer has any leg pain or shortness of breath. 2D echo did not show any signs of heart strain and showed a preserved EF. Patient will continue Lovenox for one week as an outpatient as she is bridging with Coumadin therapy.
