Compounds like CCl2F2 are known as CFCs and were once widely used as refrigerants. Breaking down of these molecules in the atmosphere releases Cl atoms, each of which in turn destroys many ozone molecules and has damaged the ozone layer. CFCs are being replaced by other compounds. The heat of vaporization of CCl2F2 is 289 J/g. What mass of this substance must evaporate in order to freeze 113.6 g water initially at 22.0 °C? (The heat of fusion of water is 334 J/g, the specific heat of water is 4.18 J/g.°C.)
