You are walking with a client down the hospital hallway when they experience urinary incontinence. The client is one-assist (1A) with walking so you are unable to clean up the spill until you assist them back to the room. There are no other staff around at the time of the incident so you cannot alert them of the spill. Once you have helped the client back to their room you walk back to the hallway and notice that someone had slipped on the urine.

1. Identify the organisation's correct policies and procedures for infection control, and access the policy/procedure to identify the risk/actions required for the event.

2. Discuss with the supervisor/assessor the breach in infection control and risk management strategies and steps you would take to rectify the situation.

3. Identify who you would report the incident to in the organisation
