• Problem statement
o Here you concisely present the problem (hole) in the research of your field. Why does your study need to be completed?
• Research questions
• Purpose of research
o You want to answer the question of "So what" when someone asks why you are doing this work. How will it improve your field?
• Significance of the study/value of the study/research
d) Literature review (recommended length: 10-15 pages)
• Begin with the most general aspects to your topic and then begin narrowing down to detailed research that supports your research questions and the need for this study.
• Critically evaluate each article and how it relates to your proposed contribution to your field.
• This is not just a summary of research articles without your critical evaluation and link to how this supports your research
o For example, don't provide a summary of the article and move on. Make sure to show a weakness or strength of the article and tie it back to your work.
