Question

You are an NP seeing a new patient in your clinic. She has not seen a medical provider in many years. Your physical assessment and lab work reveals that she is obese, has boarderline high blood pressure and pre-diabetes. Regaurdless of your choice of pharmacological management of her medical problems, you know that lifestyle changes to help this patient lose weight are imperative. She did not know she was considered obese prior to this visit. What more do you need to know about the patient to help provide education and resources to help her lose weight?
