Report writing and presentations of research in ICT

Learning Outcome: Comprehend appropriate business communication, research standards in writing report and presentations of research.

In this assignment students are required to select one topic from the list below and systematically examine this topic through research lens. You need to use at least 5 reliable sources (2 Journal papers, 2 Conference paper and one website) to help you with this research analysis. All sources must be properly referenced and acknowledged in this assignment by including an accurate reference list and in-text references.

Report should include the following parts

Select a topic from the following list and prepare a report with the following sections:

Part 1. You need to understand various IOT devices that are available in the Australian market for consumers (for example smart bulb, smart lock). Please review the existing privacy and security issues in IOT enables devices and compile a report that examines these issues in detail using the format provided.

Part 2. Technologies such as driverless cars have gained some prominence in the European, Australasian and American market over the past few years. While there are several benefits of driverless car technology there are also significant risks associated with it. Please examine various types of risks associated with driverless car technology and discuss the wider implications of this risk for consumers and society at large.

Part 3. Wearable sensor technologies such as wearables bracelets have gained significant acceptance in the aged care sector in Australia to monitor elderly and vulnerable patients and improve patient safety. Discuss the key benefits as well as risks of wearable technologies in healthcare industry using specific examples. Your report should provide key insights into this topic and whether the benefits outweigh the risks.

Part 4. Cybersecurity threats have significantly increased over the past 5 years with proliferation of various technologies in the marketplace and in particular through various smart technologies. Discuss three major cybersecurity threats that small businesses have to deal with (for example, Denial of servicer attacks, Man in the middle attacks). Examine these three threats in detail and compile a report highlighting your key findings. You are not expected to include how businesses can combat this threat instead you could summarize some key strategies they can employ to minimize these threats.
