Project Task
The project for this module consists of 5 phases; the work of each phase should be documented and submitted to the instructor according to the due date. The tasks for each phase are described below.
This project aims to design and implement a database for a real life firm located in UAE sharp of your choice.
Phase 1: Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD)
Draw (don't put as photo be sure you create & type data "Diagram Shap") an ERD reflecting the main elements (entities and attributes) to design the database for the selected firm. A minimum of 5 entities is required.
Phase 2: Mapping
Apply mapping to convert this ERD to a relational Schema.
Phase 3: Normalization
Apply normalization and define the final entities and their attributes.
Note: provide justification if normalization is not required for your project.
Phase 4: Database Implementation
• Create the database using SQL. Write all the SQL commands for each table. (5 marks)
• Write at least 10 different SQL commands to manipulate your Database. (10 Marks)
Important Note:
1. ALL types of SQL commands must be manipulated in your project:
- select,
- insert,
- update,
- delete.
2. You have to provide a screen shot for each SQL command executed on Oracle Apex in your report as well as the SQL source code.
Phase 5: Presentation
PPT as bullets & complete sentences not paragraph + add notes (as bullets & very brief explanation) and add photos or background relating the topic, also be sure all 4 Phase & their parts you wrote in the word file should include in ppt slides Note: (use same label "numbers" beside each attached phase to be covered with same A B C D ...etc for answer their parts & write suitable headings before start answer them)
Each student should present his/her work in front of their classmates.
