Marion is 79 years old and has recently become widowed after 55 years of marriage . Not suprisingly, she feels very lonely and depressed for much of the time and has difficulty in sleeping. This has led to her not caring for herself in the way that she used to, which is aggravating her Type 2 diabetes condition. she used to be fairly mobile but recently she has found that the arthritis in her knees and shoulders has become much worse.
