Assessment Task
You are to produce a 2,500 word academic essay addressing 1 of the following questions:

1. It can be argued that the successful management of organisational change is crucial to any organisation in order to survive. Critically discuss, using theory, the potential barriers to change and the ways in which such barriers may be effectively overcome.
2. The need as a leader to understand your employees is more important than ever during the COVID-19 pandemic. Critically discuss this statement using theories and examples where appropriate.
3. Employees are responsible for their own motivation at work. Critically discuss this statement using examples and theories explored in the module.

Task specific guidance:

- You should only answer 1 question.
- An understanding of theories is needed. Refer back to your asynchronous and synchronous sessions where you have covered key issues and developed critical writing skills that are relevant to the requirement of this assessment.
- Read widely from journal articles, textbooks and online sources. It is expected that you will support your arguments with academic sources where appropriate.
- Work closely with the module content. Avoid description of the content of material referred to - critical discussion is required.
- Your work should be presented as an academic essay and as such should not include numbered headings, bullet points or illustrations.
- Opportunities for formative feedback on your work will be available through the Module Office Hours, the Module Team's office hours and through structured synchronous sessions as part of the delivered module sessions.
