A researcher evaluated the benefits of an anti-bullying program for a class of students in the fifth grade. All students completed a semester of weekly presentations on the nature of bullying, how to recognize it, how to prevent it, etc. At the end of the semester (after receiving the weekly program), all of the students completed a questionnaire on beliefs and behaviors related to bullying. Students in another fifth-grade classroom that did not receive the anti-bullying program also completed the same questionnaire at the same time. What are some important flaws and threats to internal validity in this design that would make it difficult to say that any benefits may have been derived from the anti-bullying program?
