Ben Johnson set a world record of 9.83 seconds in the 100-meter dash on August 31, 1987. He had also set the record for the 60-meter dash of 6.40 seconds that same year. Assuming that in each race Johnson accelerated uniformly up to a certain speed v0 and then held that same maximum speed to the end of both races, find (a) the time t0 to reach v0; (b) the value of v0; and (c) the distance traveled while accelerating.
