Aims
This aims of this assignment are to be able to:
• Choose, evaluate and apply measures to explore behaviour
• Design and implement a theory-based behavioural intervention to change behaviour

Learning Outcome 1: Critically appraise psychological theories and use these theories to identify behavioural targets for intervention
Learning Outcome 2: Design and implement a coherent, theory-based behavioural intervention
Learning Outcome 3: Communicate a case study demonstrating the link between behaviour, health and well-being
Learning Outcome 4: Critically reflect on theories and evidence promising to change health and well-being

INSTRUCTIONS

Format

Question 1. Choose one lifestyle behaviour from the four available (ideally something you have already considered changing in your lifestyle) related to your health. This should be something you want to increase or decrease and something you can measure every day.

Examples: diet (fruit or vegetable consumption, calories consumed), exercise, water intake intake, etc.

Question 2. Complete the daily diary for two weeks measuring the behaviour you have chosen to modify EVERYDAY. The daily diary template is available in the course assessment folder.

Question 3. Design a theory-based behaviour change intervention to try and help you to change your chosen health- related behaviour. Choose one behaviour change theory, either:

• Theory of Planned Behaviour
or
• Social Cognitive Theory
And at least two behaviour change techniques from the Behaviour Change Technique Taxonomy (v1) (Michie et al., 2013). Remember you should be able to explain why you picked the techniques based on the behaviour change theory you have chosen.

Question 4. Continue to monitor your chosen lifestyle behaviour for two weeks using the daily diary provided (this is available in the course assessment folder).

Question 5. Complete a poster overview of your intervention (see template provided).

Question 6. You will be expected to stand by your poster and answer questions during class time between 10:00-11:00 (Wednesday 30th November and Wednesday 7th December).
