While thinking about the conversation you had last week with a friend or family member, observe an animal. This animal can be your own pet(s), or someone else's pet whom you have some acquaintance with. If you do not have access to a domestic animal, go to a park, a dog run and make observations between other people and their pets, but paying special attention to the animal's behaviors and looking to human behavior only for hints about the animal's identity and personality. Take a photo of the animal you selected and in one paragraph, do the following -

1. Explain why you have selected this particular animal.

2. Drawing from your writing assignment from last week, recap your explanation for your "working theory" of "sex" and/or "gender".

3. How does the working definition you outlined last week work in the context of non-human animals? In other words, what does sex mean for this other animal's identity and behavior?

4. After spending a little bit of time observing, write what you learned from watching animals and consider how their behaviors reflect your working theory of sex and/or gender.
