Overview

The aim of this assignment is to give an insight on the ability to develop their knowledge and skills in relation to communication engineering system and ability to develop their critically analyse, solve basic problems, innovate, use ICT relevant to given situations and manage their own study time.

1. TASKS:

QUESTION 1:
Communication is defined as process of transmitting, processing and receiving of data or information. Communication is generally categorized as Analogue and Digital. Amplitude Shift Keying (ASK), Frequency Shift keying (FSK), and Phase shift keying (PSK) are basic modulation schemes under Digital Communications category. In digital communications, the digital information is encoded as variation of the amplitude, phase, or frequency of the sinusoidal carrier, or some combination of these parameters and is known as digital passband modulation.

With the help of block diagrams, explain, how digital information is modulated, transmitted, and received in ASK and FSK modulation schemes. Show waveforms of digital input, modulated signal and output. (10 marks) (CLO3:PLO2:C4)

QUESTION 2:

Technology trends that will impact our lives beyond 2030: Distributed ledger technology (such as blockchain technology), Embedded Artificial intelligence (AI), Extended reality (including virtual and augmented reality), Quantum Computing, Cloud Computing, 5G Technology, Internet of Things (IoT), Starlink broadband internet technology and any relevant technologies.
Propose a concept of communication systems for the application of 5G evolution. Prepare a report on the concept and application of 5G evolution in communication systems with the following details.

1) Introduction of the next century communication, with statistics with graphs, trends, photos, and history search
2) Literature review study on the past technologies available, with photos.
3) Gap analysis and benchmarking analysis, with photos
4) Identification of suitable concept(s) law(s), mathematical model(s) and diagrams
5) Comment on your proposed technology to be considered in 5th Industry Revolution.
