Assignment Brief
Summary
The second assignment in this module is an 1800-word individual report which will analyse the state of digital transformation of an organisation of your choice, and will recommend strategies for advancing digital transformation, based on the prior analysis.
Choosing an Organisation
The chosen organisation needs to be from within the industry sector that you worked on in your group throughout the semester and on which you wrote your CW1 assignment. For instance, if you chose Banking as a sector to work on with your group, you could choose Barclays Bank for your CW2 assignment, or if you chose Retail to work on with your group, you could choose Debenhams, and so on. In your choice of an organisation to write on you are strongly advised to choose a legacy organisation (a company that has been around for alonger time and has to undergo digital transformation due to disruptive pressures). You arealso advised to choose a large organisation on which there are plenty of online materials available that you can use to research your report.
If you want to choose an organization for which there is none or very little public information available (such as your own clothing line or a friend's business), you can do that too, although you will have to do more work to gather the information necessary to analyse the different sections of the assignment.
The Report
Individual reports should analyse a chosen organisation with regards to their digital transformation efforts, making use of what has been learned throughout the module.
The deadline for this assignment is Friday, January 7th 2022. Marks will be given for this assignment according to the following criteria:
a) Industry Overview
b) Critical evaluation of the organisation's digital transformation efforts
c) Recommendations for progressing digital transformation efforts further
d) Evidence of Research
e) Structure and presentation.
