QUESTION #2

Assignment: The Campaign Focus

Written Assignments in this course will build on each other. For example, the written assignment in Week 3 builds on the written assignment from this week. It is important to read the feedback provided along with your grade on each assignment. Paying attention to the feedback and incorporating suggested changes into the next assignment will help you develop a stronger marketing plan and insure a better grade.

Write a4 page paper that covers the following points:

  • Briefly identify the social issue your social marketing plan will address. (Should abortion be legal?)
  • Identify the organization(s) that will be involved in developing and implementing the plan. If you are working in a public health related organization, use your current employer. If not, use a public health related organization for whom you have worked in the past or you anticipate working for in the future.
  • Summarize key background information about the issue using data from credible sources.
  • Describe the campaign purpose specifying the intended impact of your social marketing plan.
  • Describe the campaign focus specifying the approach you will use to contribute to the plan's purpose. Areas of focus may be solution-oriented, population-based, or product-related strategies.
  • Identify the strengths of your organization that the plan will maximize.
  • Identify the weaknesses of your organization that the plan will minimize.
  • Describe the environmental opportunities that you plan will take advantage of.
  • Describe the environmental threats that your plan will prepare for.
  • Describe findings from prior or similar efforts from programs that others have done and similar programs that you may have done in the past.

Use APA format for both the layout of the paper and the references you use. Use reference from credible sources to support the points you are making. It will be helpful to use the words in bold from the list of assignment requirements as headings in your paper to make sure you've covered all of the requirements.

Note that the maximum number of pages listed for the assignment not including the title page or list of references will be read.
