To break into the market in some countries, the relevant regulatory officials are asking for “consulting fees” that seem like bribes, and in one country the Prime Minister’s brother-in-law owns a string of factories. You have been told that some widget production in the country is essential to open the market. You have heard a rumor that working conditions at the brother-in-law’s factory are awful, but he has never been officially sanctioned.
