2) "Dickens was known for commenting on and uncovering the injustices of Victorian English society under the guise of sentimental and humorous writing. Would you say that Dickens's writing is a type of "edutainment"? Do you think that it's effective?"

3) Dickens sharply contrasts his portrayal of bland, industrial England with the inclusion of Sleary's circus. What do you think that Dickens' depiction of the circus, a form of entertainment, adds to his social commentary? Can you draw a parallel between circus performers and Dickens as a sort of performer in his position as a creative writer?
